The First-Third Expressive

Do you like to keep your feelings to yourself? In a meeting, do you prefer to listen more than talk?

If the above is true of you, you are probably First Third Expressive.

Emergenetics, a science on thinking and behavioural preferences, describes people using four thinking preferences and three behavioural styles. Just so that it is easy to understand and remember, Emergenetics uses thirds to describe behavioural attributes. If you are First Third, you prefer to perform gently. If you are Third-Third, you prefer to perform forcefully.

Your degree of Expressiveness indicates the amount of your participation with others and the world around you. Expressiveness is not what you experience inside, but what you share with the outside.

The First Third Expressive prefers to express thoughts, feelings and opinions gently.

If you First-Third Expressive, you are likely to be quiet and reserved, pensive, and are energized by solitude. At work, you prefer to think before you speak. You learn best by being alone, rather than in a rowdy group. While people love you for your thoughtfulness, you may sometimes not realize that people cannot readily understand what you are thinking when you don’t say much.

How do we know you are a First Third Expressive? We know because you don’t waste words, and think before you speak.

Knowing your own thinking and behavioural preferences, as well as that of others, allows you to overcome perceptual errors, and helps you build strong relationships.

MAKING THE RIGHT IMPACT WITH EMERGENETICS

The Emergenetics Profile provides information on four thinking preferences (Analytical, Structural, Social, Conceptual) and three behavioral styles (Expressive, Assertive, Flexibility).

Organizations who use the Emergenetics Profile are able to form more productive teams, increase understanding among co-workers, reduce conflict between people, assure more successful project implementation and develop more effective solutions to problems.

Individuals who learn their own attributes for thinking and behaving are able to communicate, sell, make presentations, teach and motivate others more effectively. Emergenetics is the result of extensive research involving over 300,000 adults. Based on the latest brain dominance research, this reliable, valid, and proven test provides insight that helps individuals best use their thinking preferences and behavior attributes.

Fortune 500 CEOs and executive management teams across the U.S. and the world have found Emergenetics to be a valuable tool that enhances an organization's ability to make good people decisions and create strong work teams that are more effective and innovative.
