The Third Third Assertive
Hi, I’m Terence Quek, Principal Trainer of Right Impact Training.
Do you often prefer to voice your opinions and concerns willingly? Do you prefer to move at a fast pace? Do you sometimes prefer telling people what to do?
If your answer is yes, you are probably Third Third Assertive.
Emergenetics, a science on thinking and behavioural preferences, describes people using four thinking preferences and three behavioural styles. Just so that it is easy to understand and remember, Emergenetics uses thirds to describe behavioural attributes. If you are first third, you prefer to perform gently. If you are third-third, you prefer to perform forcefully.
Your degree of Assertiveness reflects the amount of energy you invest in pushing across your thoughts, feelings and beliefs and having things your way.
The Third Third Assertive prefers to convince other people of their point of view.
If you are Third-Third Assertive, you are likely to be competitive, driving and telling. You learn best by debating and a vigorous exchange of views. While people love you for handling uncertain situations, you may sometimes come across as being too direct, confrontational or challenging.
How do we know you are a Third Third Assertive? We know because you often prefer to voice your opinions and complete tasks at all costs.
Knowing your own thinking and behavioural preferences, as well as that of others, allows you to overcome perceptual errors, and helps you build strong relationships.
